hi all,

discovered the upower command today, eg:

root at andrew:/home/andrew# upower -i /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/battery_BAT0
   native-path: BAT0
   vendor: SMP

   History (rate):
     1470492864 14.585 discharging

what i really like about this is the "energy-full" and "energy-full-design" lines. i don't know exactly how accurate this is, but looks like i can use those two lines to get an estimate of how this battery has deteriorated.

that's important to me because i'm using a refurb laptop with a refurb battery. the refurbisher only guarantees "30 minutes of life" from the refurbished battery. so my question "is it worthwhile to buy a replacement battery" seems to be yes, I can more than double the battery life if i get a battery that meets energy-full-design.

comments?

andrew.
