Hello everyone,

My name is Robyn Smith Owen Sound is where I grew up. My family still lives there, but I'm now in Burlington working for VMware as a Research Engineer in the support office. I have a background in Computer Science (University of Guelph) and have been working fulltime for about 5 years now - I'm 28.

My work gives us 40 hours of "service learning" a year. It basically means that we can take a week off a year and do volunteer work, all while getting paid our salary. We of course have to clear the specifics with our manager (and it typically has to be from an "approved" list).

The United Way is on the "approved" list and I was wondering if anyone knows of any volunteer opportunities in Owen Sound for BGLUG. The benefit to me is that I can volunteer while staying with my parents in Owen Sound :)

Now, I could even split it up - do something like one day a month for 5 months or do 2 days one month and 3 days another or all 5 at once. Whatever would be useful.

Please let me know if I can be useful. Even if it's non-technical.
