Hi,

So my cheap eBay tablet's power button broke, so now it's a brick
- -- can give away for spare parts.
I've also bricked my Alcatel One Touch Fire E, and first android I've
ever owned (HTC Dream) -- though due to attempting to upgrade them.

I find it very sad how so many modern mobile devices seem to lack a
bios, or an ability to boot another operating system.

However things like the raspberry pi, beagleboard, and odroid family
don't seem to have the bricking problem. However they aren't mobile,
due to a lack of a portable power supply, monitor, keyboard.

So I need a mobile device, preferably something that is unbrickable
and open hardware.

So my idea is to get the touch screen for the raspberry pi with case
(~$8 on ebay)

It wont work for the raspberry pi 3 unfortunately, since that requires
2.5 amp, and 2.1 amp seems to be the most a reasonably sized solar
charger produces nowadays.

Wondering if you think that will work.

In a slightly related tangent, I need a phone, if anyone might have an
old GSM/sim phone kicking around they could give me, that would be great
.
