[Bglug] USB GSM, Need old Linux Installation CD

Hi All,
I've found out the hard way that modern kernels don't work with USB GSM
modems. I need to use it for SMS.
I tried using an old install in a virtual machine, but that didn't work
because the host operating system is what manages the USB.
So I need to install something old, unfortunately the only old computer
I have is an old laptop that doesn't boot from USB.
Also I've had ridiculous amount of trouble procuring a USB3.0 DVD
writer, I ordered one it didn't show,I got a refund, I ordered a
second, but that hasn't arrive yet.
Anyways If anyone has or can burn installation CD for either Debian
Squeeze, or Debian Wheezy that would be awesome.
Or if you know a GSM modem that 100% works with new kernel versions (and
supports SMS), I'm all ears.
Thanks
