I'll be interested to hear your results, as I have one of these that I'm
hoping to get more life out of. Currently it's still "stock" and
running Linux Mint 14, but the old version of Firefox no longer works
with many websites.

7 to 10 Mbps is not a problem; until recently my Internet connection was
slower than that.

I've noticed that many sites are larded up with painfully slow
Javascript. Running NoScript or something equivalent might improve your
load times. (On my desktop I run Pale Moon with NoScript. Opera also
has a script blocker, but I thought it was only available for 64-bit
systems now. You found a 32-bit version?)

Cheers,
Brad
