This will be a continuation of last week's build session. We are installing Edubuntu 10.10 on some donated machines for a school up north. There will of course be the usual tech talk, hardware and software exchange while we are watching the machines install Linux. Bring your own snacks.

United Way is expecting a shipment of desktop PCs so we need volunteers to install Ubuntu. Everyone is invited to talk about their latest projects. Andrew will show how to use dosbox to play old games, and may also demo a linksys router running dd-wrt firmware set up to receive OpenVPN connections. Of course, there will be the usual tech talk and free software exchange.

The theme for the night will be media players: mplayer, xine, vlc, etc. Also video editing, DVD creation, etc. Talk about your favourite video or multi-media project. And of course you can bring in any project, gadget or problem you've been working on.

The United Way received an excellent donation of computers last week, so in addition to the usual tech talk and hardware gossip, we might build a couple of systems. Also, Andrew has Windows 98se working in Virtualbox in Linux and may show how to convert a hard drive to a Virtualbox virtual drive file.
